IRSDecode ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website and services available at our domain (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Service. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Content you submit. When you paste text or upload a file (such as an IRS notice), we process that content to provide analysis. Full analyses may be held temporarily on our servers for a short period (for example, to complete a purchase flow) and are not used to train third-party AI models.

Account information. If you create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk), we receive identifiers and profile data that provider shares with us according to your account settings and their policies.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. We do not receive your full card details. Dodo Payments handles payment data subject to its own privacy policy and terms.

Technical and usage data. We may collect standard log data, device/browser type, approximate location derived from IP, and similar diagnostics to operate and secure the Service.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including AI-powered analysis).
• To process payments and fulfill purchases.
• To authenticate users where sign-in is required.
• To detect abuse, fraud, and security issues.
• To comply with law and respond to lawful requests.

AI processing

We use third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic) to generate explanations and related output. Content you submit may be sent to those providers solely to produce your results, subject to their terms and safeguards. Do not submit information you are not allowed to share.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our vendors may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, analytics, and fraud prevention. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work if you disable them.

Sharing of information

We share information with service providers who help us run the Service (for example: hosting, authentication, payments, AI, analytics). We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Service.

Data retention

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. Temporary server-side copies of analyses may expire automatically after a limited time. Local storage on your device (for example, analysis history in your browser) is controlled by you.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object or appeal. To make a request, contact us using the email below. We may need to verify your identity.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our vendors operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
